A Lot Has Happened in 2026: Our First Quarter Update
We’ll be the first to admit it, it has taken us a little while to sit down and write this update. The start of the year has been busy in the best possible way, and before we knew it, March had arrived with more exciting progress than we could have imagined.
So while we may be a little late in sharing, we promise it’s because so much has been happening on the ground in Tanzania.
Here are a few highlights from the first few months of the year.
A Strong Start, Together
One of our most exciting updates is that School Bus #6 is officially on its way.
Transportation can be one of the biggest barriers to education, and every additional bus helps more students reach New Beginning Pre and Primary School safely each day. What might seem like a simple vehicle is actually something much bigger, it’s access to education, opportunity, and a brighter future for more children.
At the same time, we’re growing in another really exciting way.
We’re beginning to build a secondary school, which means students will be able to continue their education beyond primary school without having to leave their community. That’s something we’ve been dreaming about for a long time. It’s a big step toward creating a full pathway for our students, from their earliest years all the way through their teenage years, and making sure they have the support they need every step of the way.
A Playground for Our Students
We’re also excited to share that construction on a new playground will begin soon.
For many of our students, school is not only a place to learn but also a place where they can simply be kids. The new playground will include:
A sand pit for the younger students
Sun shades to help protect children from the strong Tanzanian sun
We can already imagine the laughter and joy this space will bring to the school community.
A Big Update Coming Soon
There is one more exciting update we can’t wait to share, but it deserves a post of its own.
Over the past two years, we have been working toward something incredibly important for the community: building a hospital that will provide life-saving medical care for families who need it most. Recently, we reached an exciting milestone in that journey, and we are eager to share the full story with you soon.
