Come With Us: Join an AFTN Mission Trip in 2026

Each year, AFTN leads short-term mission teams into the heart of Tanzania—and each year, lives are transformed. Not only the lives of the people we serve, but the lives of those who choose to come. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or it's your very first mission trip, this is an invitation to something deeper.

In March and June of 2026, we’re inviting individuals, families, and churches to join us on a mission that meets both practical needs and eternal ones. These trips are filled with purpose, led by experienced missionaries, and designed for people of all backgrounds and skills.

What Do AFTN Mission Teams Do?

No two trips are ever the same—but here’s a glimpse of what we’ve done and continue to do:

  • Host free multi-day medical clinics, serving up to 800 patients with basic care, check-ups, and treatment

  • Partner with local churches to lead worship, teach the Word, and encourage the body of Christ

  • Visit our vocational training programs, supporting students in sewing, agriculture, and business

  • Get hands-on with construction projects like Hope International Hospital or the expansion of our New Beginning School

  • Pour into over 200+ students at our primary school through lessons, games, worship, and creative activities

  • Host children’s days, women’s conferences, youth breakout sessions, and so much more

Why This Trip is Different

Your trip cost doesn’t just cover meals and lodging—it fuels the mission. We build each trip to include the cost of the materials and tools needed to make the projects possible: construction supplies, medical equipment, educational resources, and outreach materials.

Every dollar is used with purpose. And if there’s ever any left over, it goes right back into the areas of greatest need.

Where You’ll Stay

We stay at the Keys Hotel in Moshi, about an hour from our school and partner churches. It’s a place that feels like home. We’ve stayed here for nearly 20 years and have strong relationships with the staff. The food is amazing, the rooms are comfortable, and it’s the perfect place to recharge after a full day of service.

Who’s Leading the Way?

Each trip is led by our co-founder, Jennifer Crawford, with the support of her daughter Jade, both of whom live full-time in Kia, Tanzania. Jennifer has been instrumental in building the mission from the ground up, and together with Jade, they bring years of local knowledge, cultural understanding, and a deep heart for discipleship. From morning devotionals to project sites to dinner debriefs, they’ll walk with you through every part of the journey.

Expect the Unexpected

One day you might be laying bricks for a hospital. The next, preaching in a village church or teaching phonics to first graders. You might be praying with a new believer, helping with health education, or teaching marketing and IT to students in our vocational program.

Expect to be stretched. Expect to be humbled. Expect to fall in love with the people of Tanzania. Most of all, expect God to meet you in ways you didn’t even know you needed.

Ready to Go?

If your heart is stirring, we’d love to talk with you. Whether you're a nurse, teacher, creative, business owner, student, or simply someone with a heart to serve—there’s a place for you here.
