Kia Institute Celebrates 4th Sewing Class Graduation

We celebrated a beautiful milestone at Kia Institute—our 4th Sewing Class Graduation. Eighteen students, including three young men and fifteen young women, proudly walked across the stage as experienced seamstresses and tailors.

For six months, these students dedicated themselves to learning. Every morning began with Bible study, grounding them in God’s Word before diving into their training. Day by day, stitch by stitch, they learned the steps of tailoring—how to design and create dresses, skirts, shirts, suits, purses, bags, hats, and so much more.

Most of our students arrived with no clear vision of their future. Many came weighed down by the reality of limited opportunity. But in this program, something extraordinary happened. With each lesson, it was as if God was not only teaching them how to sew but also piecing their lives back together—restoring hope, purpose, and dignity.

Watching students graduate—honor restored to families, the joy of accomplishment shining, and some receiving their very first certificate—was a day full of JOY.

Now, these graduates are stepping into their communities not just as tailors and seamstresses, but as Tanzania’s next generation of fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

To God be the glory for the change we witnessed, and for the stories yet to be written through the lives of these incredible graduates.
